The Undergraduate Scholarship Programs of the Department of Science and Technology implemented by the Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) are open yearly to talented and deserving students who wish to pursue 4- or 5- year courses in priority science and technology fields. The RA 7687 Scholarships and the Merit Scholarships both aim to produce and develop high quality human resources who will man the Science and Technology (S&T) and Research Development (R&D) efforts in the country.

With the fast-paced advancement of technology and the increasing demands of globalization, there is a need to increase the pool of expertise in S&T. Through the S&T Scholarships, DOST-SEI helps contribute in providing human resources that will beef up attainment of the national R&D priority thrusts. Thus, the 2015 S&T Undergraduate Scholarships are now open to qualified secondary senior students. High school graduates who have not undertaken any college units may also apply. Application forms and scholarship brochures can be obtained at the Science Education Institute, 2/F Science Heritage Building, DOST Compound, Bicutan, Taguig City; DOST Regional Offices; Provincial Science and Technology centers (PSTC) or Offices of the Congressmen and Senators during months of June or July.
