With the hopes of advancing the services on business plan development, the Technology Application and Promotion Institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-TAPI) recently signed a contract with Wizard Technologies, Inc. (WTI) on 01 February 2018 at the DOST-TAPI Audiovisual Room, Taguig City.

Through the contract of service with WTI, business plans will be generated specifically for the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) technologies that plan to venture into pre-commercialization and commercialization activities.

The business plan development is under the project, "Towards a Strengthened Technology Commercialization Process (TCP) through Facilitation and Preparation of Business Plan of DOST-PCAARRD-Generated/Assisted Technologies" led by Ms. Nora P. Gumia, Division Chief of the Technology Information and Promotion Division of DOST-TAPI.

The business plans are critical documents for the inventors to map out their commercialization route and dictate business decisions and strategies that can affect the value potential of the technology in the mainstream market.

WTI is expected to prepare and assume full responsibility of the actual conduct of business plan development for 13 DOST-PCAARRD technologies.

"We are excited to be a part of making our home-grown technologies accessible and available in the market for the Filipinos to utilize," said Mr. Reynaldo C. Lugtu, Business Development Director of WTI.

The technologies include LAMP kit for shrimp pathogens, microalgal paste, impeller rice mill, chevon products for slaughtered goats, protein enrichment of copra meal (PECM) for use as feed in swine and poultry, coffee dryer, Nutrio, dwarf saba, coffee de-pulper, moisture meter for coffee, and rice transplanter.

The business plans are expected to be completed in July 2018.
