The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) will work hard this year to help the country recover from the pandemic caused by the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), assured DOST Secretary Fortunato de la Peña.

“I am confident and hopeful that we will have a much better year in 2021 and I will do my best to enable our whole organization to contribute more particularly this time when we need to work very hard towards recovery,” de la Peña said in his New Year’s message for the DOST.

With this, dela Peña expressed gratitude to officials and personnel of the DOST for their work last year.

“I would like to thank all the members of our DOST Family for the hard work and dedication despite of the difficulties and challenges we faced this 2020,” he said.

The secretary expressed hope that 2021 “be a year of more blessings for everyone of us and may we be able to serve our country more.”

“Let us unite to show that science is for the people,” he urged DOST officials and personnel.
