TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, April 12 (PIA) -- Students who want to avail the provincial scholarship program (PSP) can apply via online registration starting April 16 through the official website of the province: www.cavite.gov.ph/psp.

There are 2,000 scholarship slots for the coming school year. Those who will be qualified and will pass the qualifying examination given by the Provincial Scholarship Program Committee will get P5,000 each as educational financial assistance.

This is the commitment of the provincial government with the support of the Sangguniang Panlungsod to assist the students in fulfilling their dreams by giving them scholarship assistance, so that they will able to continue their studies and have the opportunity for a brighter future.

Last year Governor Jonvic Remulla led the distribution of scholarship assistance amounting to P2,950,000 to 519 scholars at the provincial gymnasium where he reiterated his administration’s uncompromising support to help the youth in their education.

Out of 5,228 students who took the examination, only 519 passed the exams.

Joann Nazareno Loyola, chief of the provincial information and community affairs division (PICAD) explained that each student received a certificate worth P5, 000.00 for their educational assistance. Loyola said the scholars were chosen based on their grades when they took the qualifying examination given by the provincial scholarship program committee last May 12, 2011.
