Green Consumerism advocacy goes town to town in a series of information campaigns in all six towns.

Dubbed as "Consumerism on the walk - Green Campaign on Consumerism and Marketing", the forum aims to provide consumers and business with better information and understanding on consumerism, green consumerism and green marketing.

Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) provincial director Nimfa Virtucio said, "This will also give valuable insights on how does greening affects energy and environment conservation."

It is in line with the celebration of Consumer Welfare Month in October with this year's theme: "Sapat na Impormasyon: Susi sa Wastong Paggamit ng Enerhiya.

DTI leads the activity with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Agriculture (DA), Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and the Province of Siquijor Electric Cooperative, Inc. (PROSIELCO) from the energy sector.

"Consumerism" is discussed by the DTI and "Consumer Act" by DENR, DA and the DTI.
The PIA, DENR and PROSIELCO took turns to discuss the topic Greening, Green Technology, Green Marketing and Climate Change.
