1E orientation

The Department of Science and Technology Region 1 (DOST1) re-accredits 20 current members of OneExpert (1E) at DOST1 Audio Visual Room, San Fernando City, La alongside the orientation on the Harmonized Protocols in the Implementation of the DOST Consultancy Programs and 1E Workshop held last April 25, 2017.

1E is a web-based pool of S&T experts nationwide ready to provide technical advice and consultancy services to Filipinos anywhere in the Philippines through internet. The S&T Pool is composed of scientists, engineers, researchers, technologists, and other experts from different areas of specializations.

The 20 1E consultants are experts under Cleaner Production, Food Safety, and Energy from different government agencies and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) in the region. The Region 1 Inter-Agency Food Safety (R1IAFS) Team has 8 members while Cleaner Production Technology Assessment Team and the Region 1 Energy Audit Team has 6 certified members each.

During the 1E orientation and workshop, Dr. Paulina P. Nebrida, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations (ARD-TO) encouraged the experts to be part of the S&T pool of experts. She said that being a 1E member is an opportunity to share expertise especially to other regions, since they are expected to be invited as resource persons in their field of specializations.

Furthermore, Ms. Anita A. Criste, DOST 1 1E Project Coordinator and Head of the Regional Standard and Testing Laboratory (RSTL) discussed the harmonized protocols in the implementation of DOST consultancy programs. The participants were guided on 1E account activation, updating expert's profile, mingle chat application, and 1E mobile application.

More 1E members in the region are expected to be accredited next month. As of now, around 20 applicants are being monitored and expected to be accredited upon completing the requirements.
