NRCP hosts DOST CEST Program Workshop

The National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) hosts the 1st Community Empowerment thru Science and Technology (CEST) 2-day workshop sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office No. 8 on January 22-23, 2017 to be held at NRCP Auditorium, Gen. Santos Ave., Bicutan, Taguig City.

The said workshop will bring together DOST Regional Directors and representatives of various DOST Regional offices to discuss the composition of the CEST Manual of Operations (CEST MOO). "This workshop primarily aims to hone the writing skills of the CEST Project Staff in drafting the final CEST MOO," according to Regional Director VIII, Engr. Edgardo M. Esperancilla who is the National CEST coordinator and workshop proponent.

The CEST Program aims to empower the poor and the marginalized communities by improving the quality of living thru science and technology. The program has packaged S&T interventions with five (5) entry points: Health and Nutrition, Water and Sanitation, Basic Education and Literacy, Economic Enterprise and Development and Disaster Risk Reduction/ Climate Change Mitigation.
