DOST-Isabela inks partnership with TESDA

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Feb. 1 (PIA) -- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) in this province recently forged a partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to optimize the implementation of technical-vocational extension and training (TVET) programs. 

The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed by TESDA Regional Director Dante Navarro and DOST-Isabela official at the Isabela School of Arts and Trades here and was witnesses by representatives of various government agencies and private offices based in the province. 

Angel Gorospe, DOST science research specialist said the partnership will pave the opportunity, cooperation and optimization of TVET project implementation and will also enhance the services of TESDA to all sectors in Isabela. 

TVET is the education and training process where it involves, in addition to general education, the study of technologies and related sciences and acquisition of practical skills relating to occupations in various sectors of economic life and social life, comprises of formal (organized programs as part of the school system) and non-formal (organized classes outside the school system) approaches.
