RXBOX 1000 PROJECT IN THE RSTW CELEBRATION

The RxBox 1000 Project of the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office No. 1 was featured in the exhibits during the Regional Science and Technology Week 2018, held at the Don Leopoldo Convention Center, Alaminos City Pangasinan, last September 18-21, 2018. Free Blood Pressure check, pulse rate monitoring and oxygen saturation reading, and ECG were offered to showcase what this new device have to offer.

There were a total of 850 patients who availed of the free medical check through the RxBox device. Students, elderly, teenagers, adults were among the clients who were also provided with health teachings along with the free services. In line with the theme of this year's RSTW, "Innovation for Collective Prosperity", it was an effective strategy of introducing this Filipino-made device to the public which is one of the initiatives of the government towards achieving a better access of health care for the country. The RxBox device is composed of a sphygmomanometer, pulse oximeter, temperature sensor, Electrocardiogram, maternal tocometer and fetal heart rate monitor with an integrated electronic medical record that can be utilized for telemedicine process.
