Live from the conference room of DOST 02; equipped with strong internet connection and a camera and microphone Ms. Dela Rosa successfully delivered to her 29 participants online the components of GAP in achieving Standards of Food Management and Food Processing System.

She underscored the often-overlooked element of GAP which is the “Personal hygiene” of the farmer as it is highly possible that the contaminants may originate from them.

Furthermore, having a personal hygiene is a fundamental in agriculture particularly to the farms that are supplying raw materials in Food Industries.

Apart from employing GAP to advance in farming, the farmers could also apply for GAP certification and integrate it as a label in their packaging which will identify their produce as a high quality.

In the region, she sited about 100 farms mostly corn-producing that are already compliance of GAP as she encouraged other farm owners to apply for its certification.
