DOST-Isabela leads opening of Pasalubong Center

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Feb. 20 (PIA)--The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Provincial Science and Technology Center based in Echague town, led the recent opening of a DOST – assisted Pasalubong Center in Alicia.

Provincial Science and Technology Center head, Engr. Marcelo Miguel said the town’s Pasalubong Center will be a hub of the finest products from Region 2 particularly processed – agriculture products.

Miguel urged Micro, Small and Medium Entrepreneurs who wanted to increase their production and profit, to visit the DOST offices and avail of the agency’s Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).

"Our office provides assistance through SETUP or Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with equipment and technical assistance to enable you to increase sales and production, streamline and improve overall company operations, upgrade the quality of products and services, conform to national and international standards of excellence, and be competitive in their respective fields,” Miguel said.

The DOST official said SETUP supports MSMEs by providing fund for technology acquisition - equipment upgrading, technical trainings and consultancy services, packaging and label design, database information systems, and support for establishment of product standards, including testing, and calibration of equipment.
