Food Firms get more conscious on Food Safety

Two associations peddling food products in Nueva Vizcaya underwent an intensive lecture on Food Safety and Requirements for FDA and LTO Registration on March 26, 2019 at Mungia MPC, Dupax del Norte.

DOST RO2 SRS II Aileen C. Gonzales tackled the standards of Food Safety as well as its importance as a preventive measure in avoiding incidents of food poisoning and illnesses.

Moreover, she emphasized the significance of certifications that will add value, credibility, and quality to their service particularly in their firm.

Attending participants were former OFWs, now members of Antutot MPC of Kasibu and Mungia MPC of Dupax del Norte that process and commercialize Turmeric Tea.

Meanwhile, said activity was spearheaded by Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Partnership Program, COOP-SPEED which aims to improve the competitiveness and productivity of entrepreneurs.

On the same day, Ms. Gonzales assisted by DOST-PSTC Nueva Vizcaya assessed CCQ’s Food Processing Firm in Aritao for the renewal of their FDA LTO certification and layout of their firm in compliance to the standards of Food Safety.
