DOST 7 EMPLOYEES RECEIVE AN ORIENTATION ON SOCIAL PROTECTION PROGRAMS IN RESPONSE TO THEIR STRATEGIC GENDER NEEDS

A total of Sixty One (61) participants (Male 29, Female 32) acquired a series of Orientation on the Social Protection Programs from the Government Insurance System (GSIS), Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) PAG-IBIG fund and PhilHealth office. The representatives of these government agencies shared the programs and services for men and women employees on land and housing security, retirement and on diseases and health benefits and security.

The Social Protection Program Orientation was held during the 2019 Women’s Month Celebration of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 7 on March 12, 2019 at DOST VII Conference Hall, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City. Ms. Marla Juvi Esada, the Science Research Specialist I of the Technical Operations Division (TOD) said, “I really appreciate the training for finally I have understood the benefits that I can get from the contributions I have been remitting.”

The 61 participants also actively took part in the Cardiovascular Workout, in GAD Advocacy Commitment Setting and in GAD Recognition of S & T women who influenced them the most (through body painting smudging). Moreover, Ms. Ethel Cleme?a of the TOD also expressed, “the session really helped us to be knowledgeable in the different government agencies and also taught us to be sensitive and respect the limitations of our coworkers.”

The whole day event was supported by Engr. Edilberto L. Paradela, Regional Director of DOST 7, Ms. Bernarda G. Perez, ARD for Admin and Finance and Engr. Jesus F. Zamora, Jr., ARD for Technical Operations Division and of the rest of the officers and members of the GAD Focal Point System (GFPS) of the DOST 7.
