Tabuk entreps learn to improve production, mngt skills

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Nov. †19 (PIA) -- Micro and small entrepreneurs†here are expected to improve their management and production skills with the Advocacy on Sustainable Innovation, Science and Technology (ASIST) workshop given by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Norberto Cobaldez of DOST-CAR said this is under the departmentís continuing effort to develop micro-business, which comprise largely the countryís trade sector.

The local entrepreneurs were taught to aim for quality product and improved service as the activity was intended to develop† †in them the Tabukeno Asensadong Buhay sa Usapang Kalakalan (TABUK).

Cobaldez noted higher profit is not always gained through pricing but on how to increase sales through product quality and friendly service and this could be achieved when good management combines with new technology.

Included in the workshop topics were Consultancy on Agricultural Productivity (CAPE), Manufacturing Productivity Extension Program (MPEX), Energy Audit (EA), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety (FS) and Cleaner Production Technology (CPT).

As follow-up, Cobaldez informed there will be second-level consultancy training to interested participants. (JDP/LL -PIA CAR, Kalinga)
