NRCP finds treatment to most prominent diseases in dairy animals Posted: Thursday, February 20, 2020 An NRCP study shows how mangrove organisms could fight against the prominent disease in dairy animals mastitis.
To help the dairy farmers, alternative solutions and medications are still being discovered against diseases that are common to dairy animals. The National Research Council of the Philippines basic research has come up with a new information in the introduction to production of antibiotics from mangroves against the commonly endemic disease in dairy animals called Mastitis. Mastitis costs dairy farmers a massive amount for medication of dairy animals, and if not treated, could lead to death.

Balik Scientist, isinusulong ang pangisdaan na mapananatili o sustainable sa pamamagitan ng aquaponics Posted: Thursday, February 20, 2020 Isang maliit na bersyon ng sistema ng aquaponics ang ipinamamalas sa University of the Philippines Diliman-Institute of Biology (UP-IB). Ito ay upang ipakita kung paano nagiging epektibo ang sistema ng floating at media bed aquaponics.
Ito ay pinangunahan ni Dr. Wenresti G. Gallardo, isang Balik Scientist at dalubhasa sa larangan ng aquaculture at marine science. Bahagi si Dr. Gallardo ng Balik Scientist Program (BSP) ng Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development ng Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).
