DOST, CSU to establish e-trike hub

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, July 3 (PIA) -- The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 2 and the Cagayan State University have proposed for the establishment of electric-powered tricycle (e-trike) hub at the Cagayan Valley’s Regional Government Center (RGC) in this city.

DOST Assistant Regional Director Virginia Bilgera presented the proposal during the joint Regional Development Council (RDC) and Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) meeting held in Cauayan City, Isabela on June 19.

The proposal aims to establish a hub for local e-trike manufacturing up to 2022 which will serve as one of the major short distance transport vehicles in the region.

She said CSU is now conducting studies on e-trike deployment and utilization, and e-trike installation and stability in support to the mass transport research and development agenda of the government.
