71 Pisay scholars receive admission offers from top universities abroad

The Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System cannot help, but be proud of its more than 70 students who have received admission offers from the top and prestigious universities abroad.

The PSHS announced Wednesday, June 2, that 11 more Pisay scholars got offers of admission from various universities in Asia, America, Europe, and Australia.

Five of them are members of the Class 2021 of the Philippine Science High School – Cordillera Administrative Region Campus (PSHS-CARC) in Irisan, Baguio City.

The PSHS extended its felicitations to Elms Watts M. Dacquel of the PSHS-CARC for receiving admission offers with scholarship grants from Saint Louis University-Madrid Campus for Biomedical Engineering with Inigo Scholarship; Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for Pharmaceutical Sciences with ACPHS Merit Scholarship; and Duke Kunshan University of China for Natural Sciences

Krissandra Mae B. Serafica, also from PSHS-CARC, also got an admission offer with scholarship grant to take up Public Health in Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in New York, United States.

The PSHS also took great pride in Jemeilyn Lacap’s feat as she has been offered to take up BS Psychology in Monash University and Saint Leo University in Australia and in the United States, respectively.

Alessandra Noelle A. Mendoza also got offers of admission from universities in US and in China. These are Florida Institute of Technology in the United States for Biomedical Sciences, New York University-Shanghai in China for Neutral Science with scholarship grant, and Duke Kunshan University in China for Global Health with scholarship grant.

The PSHS also congratulated Anshari Kirsten G. Dalan, also PSHS-CARC, for receiving admission offers with scholarship grant from University of East London in the United Kingdom for Chemistry, and Alfred University in the US for Chemistry with Dean’s Scholarship.

The six other students who got admission offers hail from the PSHS-Eastern Visayas Campus (PSHS-EVC) in Palo, Leyte.

Jymarie S. Limpiado, a member of Class 2021 of PSHS-EVC, received an admission offer to take up Mechanical and Electrical System Engineering in the Kyoto University of Advanced Science in Japan.

The PSHS also cited Jannah Veron L. Nuevas for getting an admission offer to take up Bachelor of Science Program in the University of British Columbia – Vancouver Campus in Canada.

It also congratulated Georginne Reese U. Perez, also from PSHS-EVC), for receiving offers of admission with scholarship grants from the following prestigious universities in Canada: University of Calgaryfor Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with President’s Admission Scholarship, Dalhousie University for Bachelor of Science with Dalhousie Entrance Renewable Scholarship, Dalhousie Community and Leadership Award and Dalhousie Renewable Bursary; and Memorial University of Newfoundland for Bachelor of Science – Planning to Major in Biology IUGS Entrance Scholarship for Undergraduate Students (Maximum Amount).

Micah Japhette B. Avila also received an admission offer with scholarship grant through the Outstanding International Student Award (OIS) in the University of British Columbia-Faculty of Applied Science in Canada.

The PSHS also congratulated Darren Pearl L. Reynera for receiving an admission offer with scholarship grant in the Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada.

It also lauded Kristen Clarisse I. Loreto, also from PSHS-EVC, for receiving admission offers from New York University for Urban Design and Architecture Studies and Chemistry/Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (to be admitted in the College of Liberal Studies, with the first year of studies at NYU Madrid); University of British Columbia-Vancouver in Canada for BS Pharmacy and BS Applied Biology; St. JOhn’s University in US for Criminal Justice: Forensic Psychology option; and George Mason University in US for BS Chemistry.

Loreto received credit through George Mason by attending Envision’s 2018 Global Young Leaders Conference Program. She has been qualified for the Honor’s College at George Mason.

By the end of May, the number of PSHS students who got offers of admission from various universities in Asia, America, Australia and Europe stood at 60.
